JOHN BREED
On his countless journeys, the Dutch artist John Breed has always been fascinated by the creativity and perfection of nature in all its facets — and by the craftsmanship of indigenous cultures. Thus inspired, he began to study and develop his own masterful language of structure and form. In his works, viewers will discover basalt structures, crystalline formations, and waves, which, in Breed’s stunning surface finishings, once again become objects of art.
John Breed was born in 1969 in Egmond, the Netherlands. He studied decorative painting at the Nimeto School in Utrecht and fresco painting at the Academia del Superfluo in Rome. Thereafter he studied Japanese calligraphy in Kyoto, Chinese landscapes in Qilin, gilding techniques in south Germany, and iconography with the Dutch artist Cor Kroone.
His art has been shown at numerous solo and group exhibitions in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and the USA. His works can be found both in public and private collections in Germany, Belgium, Spain, USA, Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Suriname, and the Netherlands.
John Breed lives and works in Egmond, the Netherlands.

Auf seinen unzähligen Reisen faszinieren den niederländischen Künstler John Breed seit jeher die Kreativität und Perfektion der Natur mit all ihren Facetten sowie die Handwerkskunst und die indigenen Techniken fremder Kulturen. Davon inspiriert beginnt er, diese zu studieren und seine eigene meisterliche Formsprache zu entwickeln. So trifft man bei seinen Werken auf Basaltstrukturen, Kristallgebilde und Wellenbewegungen, die durch die Veredelung der Oberflächen einmal mehr zum Kunstwerk erhoben werden.
John Breed wird 1969 in Egmond, Niederlande geboren. Er studiert Dekorative Malerei an der Hochschule Nimeto in Utrecht und Freskomalerei an der Academia del Superfluo in Rom. Es folgen Studien in Japanischer Kalligrafie in Kyoto, Chinesischer Landschaftsmalerei in Qilin, Vergoldung in Süddeutschland und der Ikonografie unter dem niederländischen Künstler Cor Kroone.
Sein Arbeiten wurden in zahlreichen Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen in den Niederlanden, Belgien, Deutschland und den USA gezeigt. Seine Werke befinden sich in öffentlichen und privaten Sammlungen in Deutschland, Belgien, Spanien, den USA, Russland, Kasachstan, China, Suriname und den Niederlanden.
